Joint task force to bring out new state IT policy.

Updated On, 13 April 2012: GURGAON: With an aim of creating and promoting the concept of "Greater Gurgaon", the IT-BPO industry heads met senior state and district officials on Thursday in the city. The idea was to give a fresh thrust to IT-BPO industry and include Manesar in the growth story. In the meeting, it was also decided to form a joint task force that would bring out the new IT policy for the state.

"The Gurgaon IT-BPO industry is right now in a crisis and is lagging behind when compared to other IT-BPO hubs in the country. We are steadily losing out in the market share and there is a lot of concern among the companies and clients alike. Safety and transport still remain an issue. So, while we have been having constant engagements with the district and state authorities, we met to discuss the way out and prepare a plan to make the industry stronger," said Subinder Khurana, chair, Nasscom Regional Council (Haryana). The main topics discussed in the meeting were related to infrastructure development within the city including transport, parking and providing seamless connectivity between Gurgaon and Manesar. We also asked the officials to make policies that would promote the growth of the industry," he added.

According to Y S Malik, financial commissioner and principal secretary, IT and industries & commerce department, a similar meeting will be held after a month. We discussed some important issues. Now, we will begin working on them and we will meet again to see what we have been able to achieve," Malik told TOI.
