Solanki case: HUDA chief seeks change of investigator
Updated On, 14 April 2012:
GURGAON: The HUDA administrator has written a letter to the Gurgaon police commissioner seeking change of the investigating officer in the Mukesh Solanki case in which the administrator has been accused of making a racist comment to his subordinate. The administrator is apparently upset by the perceived connivance of department staff and senior police officials.
A senior policeman - ACP Krishan Murari - had written to the police chief recommending an FIR against Praveen Kumar for "non-cooperation" during investigations.According to the administrator, the investigating officer had met him only once and said that he would be recording the statement as and when required but never approached him after that.
"He never contacted me for my comment and simply wrote to the commissioner of police recommending an FIR for 'non-cooperation', which is a non bailable offence. It feels strange to see such a scenario which is prevalent in every department," he said.He added, "If they can do this to me as an administrator, I wonder what they will do with the common man?"After getting the information, the administrator went to meet the ACP to take him to task and ask him the reason for recommending such a letter to the police commissioner.
"I then wrote to the police commissioner for changing the investigating officer in the case as the present officer had filed a wrong report," he added. ACP Narender Kadiyan has been deputed as the new investigating officer in this case.HUDA administrator visited the Sector 29 market in November and declared free parking in the market against which the contractor filed a case in the high court. The contractor soon got a stay after he was "helped" by the Estate Officer by presenting "fudged documents". The administrator then pulled up the estate officer for giving incorrect information in the court after which he went on leave.
The HUDA administrator later sealed the office of the estate officer against which Solanki filed a police case alleging that he was badly hurt because of a racist comment made by him.One of the shopowners of the marble market also supported Solanki by giving a statement affidavit and confirming the comments made by the administrator. |
